How I Captured an Aesthetic Rural Sunset in Paschim Medinipur With a Realme 10 Pro 5G
Some of my favourite photographs are not taken at famous destinations. They happen in places that are already part of everyday life.
I captured this photograph in the fields of my rural village in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal, at around 3:30 PM. I was in the fields when I noticed the combination of the yellowish sun, clouds, trees and surrounding landscape.
I was carrying my Realme 10 Pro 5G, so I decided to photograph the scene.
The photograph was not planned in advance. I simply noticed that the landscape had an aesthetic appearance at that particular moment and wanted to preserve it.
The Photograph
The photograph shows a rural landscape with several elements working together.
The yellowish sun is one of the main visual features. Around it, clouds add texture to the sky, while trees and bamboo-like vegetation create a natural frame around the landscape.
The fields provide the setting for the photograph.
Rather than photographing only the sun, I wanted to include the surrounding environment because it was the combination of all these elements that made the scene interesting to me.
Camera and Device
I captured the photograph using my Realme 10 Pro 5G.
Here are the details I can confirm:
- Device: Realme 10 Pro 5G
- Location: Rural village in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal
- Time: Around 3:30 PM
- Shooting position: In the fields
- Main elements: Yellowish sun, clouds, trees and bamboo-like vegetation
- Setting: Rural landscape
- Editing: No editing was applied
I like recording these details because they explain the actual circumstances behind the photograph.
Why I Took the Photograph
The scene caught my attention because of its overall appearance.
The yellowish sun stood out against the clouds, while the trees and bamboo-like plants gave the scene a natural structure.
It wasn't one particular object that made me stop. It was the combination of the sky, sunlight and rural landscape.
I felt that the scene had an aesthetic quality that would work well as a photograph.
Photographing From the Fields
I took this photograph while I was in the fields.
Being inside the rural landscape gave me a different perspective from photographing the same scene from a road or a building.
The surrounding vegetation became part of the composition naturally.
I didn't need to create a special setup. I simply used the viewpoint available to me and photographed what was in front of me.
The Yellowish Sun and Clouds
The sun was one of the details that immediately attracted my attention.
Its yellowish appearance contrasted with the clouds around it.
Clouds can make an otherwise simple sky more interesting because they introduce different shapes and textures.
In this photograph, I liked the way the sun, clouds and vegetation came together rather than treating any one of them as a completely separate subject.
Including the Trees
The trees and bamboo-like vegetation were important parts of the scene.
They helped connect the sky to the fields and made the photograph feel like a complete rural landscape.
Instead of pointing the phone directly at the sun, I included some of the surrounding vegetation.
This gave the photograph more context and helped show where the photograph was taken.
Using a Smartphone in the Fields
I used my Realme 10 Pro 5G to capture the photograph.
I didn't use a dedicated camera or additional photography equipment.
This was an ordinary moment in my village, so having my phone with me made it possible to capture the scene immediately.
For me, this is one of the biggest advantages of mobile photography: interesting moments don't have to wait until you have professional equipment with you.
No Editing
I did not edit the photograph after taking it.
I kept the photograph as it was captured on my Realme 10 Pro 5G.
I didn't add filters or change the colours afterward.
The natural combination of the yellowish sunlight, clouds and rural surroundings was already what attracted me to the scene.
What I Learned From This Photograph
This photograph gave me a few simple lessons about photographing rural landscapes.
1. Look at familiar places differently
Because this is a rural area where I spend time, it would be easy to overlook the scenery. Photography made me pay more attention to it.
2. Look for combinations rather than individual subjects
The photograph works because of the relationship between the sun, clouds, trees and fields.
3. Use natural surroundings
The bamboo-like trees and other vegetation helped create the composition without needing anything to be added.
4. Don't ignore the sky
The clouds and sunlight were major parts of what made the scene interesting.
5. Your phone can be enough
I used my Realme 10 Pro 5G and captured the photograph when I noticed the moment.
My Experience
What I like most about this photograph is that it came from my own surroundings.
I was in the fields of my rural village in Paschim Medinipur at around 3:30 PM when I noticed the scene.
The yellowish sun, clouds and trees created an aesthetic landscape, and I decided to photograph it.
There was no planned photography session.
It was simply a moment that looked beautiful enough to preserve.
Why I Kept the Photograph Natural
I decided not to edit the photograph.
The scene already had the visual qualities that attracted me in the first place.
Keeping the image unedited also means that the photograph remains a straightforward record of what I saw in the fields at that time.
For Landscape in Lens, I want my photography posts to document real photographs and the experiences behind them.
Final Thoughts
This photograph is a reminder that you don't always need to travel somewhere famous to find an interesting landscape.
I captured it in the fields of my rural village in Paschim Medinipur, at around 3:30 PM, using my Realme 10 Pro 5G.
The yellowish sun, clouds, trees and bamboo-like vegetation came together to create an aesthetic rural scene that caught my attention.
I did not edit the photograph afterward.
For me, photography is about noticing these small moments—the kind that can easily disappear if you don't stop and look.
