Still Water and Sunset Hues: My View of the Ganges From Ahiritola Ghat

Image
Still Water and Sunset Hues: My View of the Ganges From Ahiritola Ghat There are places where you don't need to search for a photograph. You simply have to stop and look. I captured this photograph at Ahiritola Ghat in Kolkata , beside the Ganges , at around 4 PM . I was standing at the ghat with my Realme 10 Pro 5G when the riverside scene caught my attention. I decided to photograph the view as I experienced it. There was no special photography setup, and I kept the photograph completely unedited . The Moment I Noticed the Scene The Ganges has a different character depending on the time of day. When I was at Ahiritola Ghat around 4 PM, I found myself paying attention to the relationship between the river, the sky and the surroundings. Instead of focusing on just one small object, I wanted the photograph to show the wider riverside environment. That was what made me stop and take the picture. The Photograph The photograph captures a view of the Ganges from Ahiritola Ghat . The r...

Photographing the Ganges at Ahiritola Ghat

Image
Some photographs come from planned trips, while others happen when you simply stop and look around. I took this photograph of the Ganges from Ahiritola Ghat in Kolkata at around 5 PM . I was using my  Phone,  and I decided to capture the scene as I saw it. I was simply at the ghat, looking across the river, when the scene caught my attention. The Photograph The photograph captures the Ganges from Ahiritola Ghat , with the river, boats, opposite bank and evening sky forming the main elements of the scene. What attracted me was the combination of the wide river and the changing appearance of the sky around evening. Instead of concentrating on one small subject, I wanted the photograph to show the overall environment. The ghat provided my viewpoint, while the river created a large open area through the middle of the composition. Camera and Device The details I can confirm about the photograph are: Device: Realme 10 Pro 5G Location: Ahiritola Ghat, Kolkata Time: Around 5 PM Sh...

Photographing Coloured Sky in Phoolbagan

Image
Sometimes an interesting photograph appears during an ordinary walk. I captured this photograph in Phoolbagan, Kolkata , at around 4:20 PM . I was standing on the street in front of a lake when I noticed the changing colours of the sky. I had my Phone  with me, so I decided to capture the scene. There was no planned photography session, special equipment or editing afterward. I simply noticed the scene and photographed it as I saw it. The Photograph The photograph captures the colourful evening sky together with the lake and the surroundings around it. The sky was the part that immediately caught my attention. The combination of pink, violet and orange tones made the scene look different from an ordinary afternoon view. Instead of photographing only the sky, I included the lake and surrounding environment so that the photograph would show the place where I experienced the scene. For me, this makes the photograph more than just an image of colourful clouds. It records a particular ...
