Photographing Coloured Sky in Phoolbagan

Sometimes an interesting photograph appears during an ordinary walk.

I captured this photograph in Phoolbagan, Kolkata, at around 4:20 PM. I was standing on the street in front of a lake when I noticed the changing colours of the sky.

I had my Phone with me, so I decided to capture the scene.

There was no planned photography session, special equipment or editing afterward. I simply noticed the scene and photographed it as I saw it.

Using a Smartphone for Landscape Photography

This photograph was taken with my Phone.

For casual landscape photography, a smartphone can be extremely convenient because it is usually already with you.

Having the right camera is useful, but having a camera available when something interesting happens is just as important.

I did not edit this photograph after taking it.

That is one of the reasons I enjoy photography. It encourages me to pay attention to surroundings that I might otherwise walk past without noticing.

Why I Kept the Photograph Natural

I decided not to edit this image.

The original colours were already the reason I wanted to photograph the scene, so I didn't feel that I needed to add filters or change the appearance afterward.

For Landscape in Lens, I want to document photographs as honestly as possible, including the circumstances in which they were captured.
